Please individually submit your Chapter 1 Overview (Summary) as part of the Assignment "Chapter 1 Overview".

1.  Why do the Dursleys consider themselves to be normal?  Why do they believe magical people like the Potters are abnormal?  How familiar are the Dursleys with the Potter family?

3.  In what ways does Vernon Dursley ignore the strange people and animals he sees?  How does he express his fear of the unknown and concerns that people might learn that his wife's sister was a witch?

 

4.  Why do the wizards and witches continue to risk discovery by and interaction with the Muggles after Lord Voldemort was vanquished by Harry?

 

5.  Explain the roles of Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Rubeus Hagrid in the transfer of Harry from Godric's Hollow to Privet Drive.  Why do you think they decided to leave Harry with his aunt's family instead of finding a wizard home for him?  How does Harry's fame in the wizard world influence Dumbledore's decision?
